Michael Patrick Partners’ Work to Be Included in Two
New David E. Carter Publications

20 of the Firm’s Designs Will Appear in New Graphic Design Reference Books

PALO ALTO, CA, September 30, 2005

Michael Patrick Partners (MPP) of Palo Alto, CA, and Portland, OR, has had 20 of its recent design assignments selected to appear in two soon-to-be-released David E. Carter design publications—Creativity 35 and The Big Book of Business Cards.

These new accomplishments, along with other awards received during recent months, now push the firm’s combined design award total close to 400.

Since 1971 the Creativity annual has been a showcase for outstanding work in advertising and graphic design. The thirty-fifth Creativity annual will be 400 pages, hard cover, in full color. The book will be distributed in more than 100 countries—work from all over the United States and from countries around the world will be included.

Nine MPP assignments were selected for Creativity 35—five collateral assignments, two identity systems, and two annual reports. The clients included Dehen Jackets, Pacific Sunwear of California, Plumtree Software, Stanford University School of Medicine, Umpqua Holdings, and Michael Patrick Partners.

The Big Book of Business Cards is planned as the largest book ever produced on the topic and will include designs from around the world. A total of 11 business systems designed by MPP will be featured. The client work includes @POS, BlueArc, Convera, Financialprinter, Icarian, Martinelli Studios, Menlo Builders, Michele Maidens Design, Pacific Art League, Sand Hill Advisors, and WealthCycle—each design was part of a new identity program developed by the firm.

Dan O’Brien, Michael Patrick Partners’ co-founder, said, “It’s really a treat when our work is selected for one of David’s books. Our staff looks to his books for inspiration when they begin preliminary design exploration. I encourage them to do their homework and to think of David’s books as reference material. And I’ll never get over the joy of thumbing through a Carter publication and seeing one of our designs.”

The Big Book of Business Cards, due to be released in the fall of 2005, and Creativity 35, to be released in the summer of 2006, can be purchased at Amazon.com and selected major retail outlets—or contact info@creativity.net for more information.
